Malaysia - Sepang
Sepang International Circuit is located in a very prestigious area about fifty kilometers south of Kuala Lumpur and is dotted with large and luxurious hotels, golf courses, shops and sports facilities.
Sepang hosted its first Grand Prix in April 1999, after having taken the place of the two tracks that had hosted the Malaysian GP in the past, Shah Alam and Johor.
It is a circuit generally much appreciated by riders and teams and is bordered by the greenery of the tropical forest and not far from the International airport of Kuala Lumpur.
The infrastructure is modern and functional and the track has high safety standards.
Its length is about 5545 m. The circuit has two main straights, one after the other with a bend that divides them: the first – the one opposite the pits – is where you reach maximum speed.
Besides being the longest track on the MotoGP circuit, it is also amongst the widest in the world because in some places reaches 16 metres wide, and offers a wide variety of bends and fast straights, which test both riders and machines.
