The circuit of Le Mans
The circuit of Le Mans is located three miles south of the city.
The track for the MotoGP race measures 4.18 kilometers and it is built around the famous ‘24-Hours’ circuit from 1965.
The circuit exploits the main straight with the lightning-fast right-hander from the stands that leads to the famous Dunlop chicane.
The track is composed of a sequence of small straights, where the bikes can accelerate to their top speed, followed by violent braking points, with 180° bends following them.
Of great importance (and worthy of visit) is the Automobile Museum at La Sarthe which is right at the start of the circuit: a spectacular voyage of discovery in the land of the automobile industry, with 3,600 square feet of exhibition history, news and invaluable exhibits from the history of automotive sport.
