The circuit of Jerez de la Frontera
Inaugurated on 8th December 1985, bringing on stage the first race of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Spain in April 1986. While the following year it hosted for the first time a MotoGP race.
For over 22 years, the appointment on the Andalusian track is a classic of the MotoGP Championship calendar, characterized by the huge numbers of passionate Iberian fans inside and outside the track.
At the beginning the circuit measured 4218 meters with a width of 11 meters. In 1992, some works were made to make it faster with the change of curve Sito Pons and was followed in 1994 with the inclusion of the Senna Chicane. So the result was changed to the length of 4428 m.
The track is notable for its variations in height, the short straight of 600 m, and the slow turns that require hard braking. Perhaps the most difficult section for riders is between the last two fast right-hand turns, because it presents a major challenge for the set-up of the bike.
