Catalunya - Catalunya

From 20 km south of Barcelona there is the Catalan circuit of Montmélo, opened in 1991 with the Spanish Grand Prix Formula 1, considered for its infrastructure, including the latest MotoGP and the pride shown in the Catalan capital.
It is a very technical track with fast straights and some heavy braking areas, with five left-handers and eight right: three of which are taken at high speed. The uneven surface of the asphalt makes it difficult for setting up a motorcycle and holding the perfect line around the corners. Also, the weather can suddenly change very quickly in this area of Spain influencing the final result!
The Spanish track is located in the heart of a land traditionally linked to motorsport in general and in 1992 it was included in the calendar as the European Grand Prix. The first winner in the premier class was Wayne Rainey in May of that year. In 1996 it became the Grand Prix of Catalunya.
