Czech Rep. - Brno
The circuit of Brno Masaryk Circuit, officially called by the name of the nation's first president -Tomas Masaryk- was born in the years 1920’s and originally measured 29.142 km developed on city’s routes and opened to car racing.
In the 1950s – after it had been shortened by 11 km – motorsport competition continued, but this excluded motorcycle racing.
In 1975 it was yet changed once more, bringing the total length to 10,900 meters, but still strict security rules permitted the track’s use only for minor categories until 1986, when the current track was inaugurated and motorcycles returned.
Now, at 5403 meters long, it is a slow and articulate track with 14 curves and a straight measuring only 636 meters, so that the maximum speeds are able to reach slightly over 280 km / h or around 174mph.
Moreover, a variety of ups and downs complete a very complex landscape for riders and engineers, forcing them to work hard to find a perfect set-up.
